We are so excited to be hosting the second annual Lights, Camera, Action! As we approach the big day, there are a few important things to share.
On Thursday, you will need to register when you get to Nokomis so please plan to be there by 7:30. You will get your official schedules, find out the locations of your workshops, fill out any missing paperwork and get started on an exciting day!
Registration will be done by age groups: K-3, 4-6, 7-8 and 9-12. There will be a separate station for anyone who is missing part of their registration.
Although we can take new registrations at the door, at that point we will be unable to change your schedule so if you have questions, it is imperative that you contact us BEFORE Tuesday, February 20th so that we have ample time to prepare everything for Thursday. If you have not registered for your workshops by midnight Monday, you will have a schedule that has been assigned to you based on availability.
At registration, you will be given your personal schedule. Please remember that your schedule has been set, and it is important that you go to the workshops for which you are registered!! The teachers will have a roster and will be excited to see you!! There will be people all around to help you find your way to the correct room.
The K-3 program will be held upstairs and someone will be there to help you find your way during registration.
The K-3 Performance will be held at 12:30 after lunch.
There is very limited cell coverage at Nokomis. If you have any concerns, please call the office at 368-4354.
DON’T FORGET TO LOOK AT THE THE MUSIC FOR YOUR CAST PARTY SONG!
Things will go much better if you have some familiarity with the music and lyrics!
We are still looking for donations for our art drive to benefit Nokomis Art Department. If you can bring an item we would be very grateful; follow the link to see what is needed.
We would be very grateful to anyone who might be willing to bring a batch of cookies or brownies for a dessert item. If you can help, please drop it off Thursday morning.
There will also be a bake sale before the Cast Party with all proceeds to benefit Nokomis Cooking Club.
If you are participating in SPECIAL EFFECTS MAKEUP and have an allergy to latex, please contact us! Although this is the most effective method for this type of makeup artistry, there are numerous alternatives which we can utilize if a student has that need.
If you are a SENIOR in high school and plan to go to college next year, take the time to write a one-page essay using the prompt below and possibly get a 200.00 scholarship for college!
Prompt: How have the arts influenced your life?
There will be a panel of judges to choose the winning essay and the recipient will be announced at the Cast Party.
If you are participating in Stagecraft you need to bring clothing that you do not mind getting paint on.
If you are participating in INSTRUMENTAL JAZZ IMPROVISATION you must bring your instrument. We will have a safe place for storage.
If you are participating in PHOTOGRAPHY bring your smartphone or camera. If you do not have either, we will have a device you can borrow.
While LCA is providing lunch, dinner and some snacks during the day, please feel free to bring snacks and water.
Invite friends and family to the “CAST PARTY” beginning at 7PM!! It is going to be a great show! We are suggesting a $3.00 donation per person or $10.00 for a family. This will help us offset the cost of scholarships.
We are so anxious to spend the day with all of you on Thursday! There are many people working hard behind the scenes to make this event a success! Please feel free to contact us with questions, concerns or if you would like to help with the day!
We will see you all Thursday! Lights up! Camera on!
