Colby College- Ensemble Building Through Physical Theater

In this 90 minute class, students will run, jump, twist themselves in knots, breathe, freeze, expand, and move in all kinds of other ways as they use their physicality to create and present authentic characters on stage.

You can try the game without a commitment and see that lacrosse is as great as they say. Coaches from local MidMaine Lacrosse teams will be sharing tips and skills. This is a great opportunity for your busy child during a full day of workshops. Girl and Boy Game (they are a bit different) equipment will be available. NO experience is necessary. Join us for an hour of action-packed fun.

You'll burn calories and tone your muscles to a variety of musical genres and bumpin' beats. Routines are inspired by a wide range of dance styles, such as: cumbia, reggaeton, merengue, bollywood, hip hop, belly dance, and more!

Designed to take a jazz improviser to the next level. What scales to use? What articulations to use? How to involve basic chords? What patterns to practice? If you want to get to the next level in improvisation, this class is for you! Any instrument is welcome. 

Special Effects Makeup

This course will teach you the basic skills for specials effects makeup application. We will be looking into time period makeup, basic wound makeup, and if we have enough, old age profession. There will be liquid latex being used, so if you have a latex allergy, please let me know before class.

Methods of making ordinary clothes into Costumes. Students will choose an animal, character, or imaginary being and recreate simple clothes. Simple sewing will be demonstrated.

Gelatin Painting

Come learn about a new printmaking technique- Gelatin Printing- where you use Gelatin as your printing plate! Try out different color combinations, stencils, and found objects to create an interesting and textured piece of art! No art experience needed! Everyone will be able to take home their own prints and a recipe for the gelatin so they can continue printmaking at home if they want!

Stage Lighting

This workshop is putting the “Lights” in LCA. During this hour we will see why performances aren’t done under typical house lights. We’ll explore different kinds of lights, light transitions, and how light can add to a scene. We’ll also get a little hands-on experience with the lighting instruments and programming “the board.” Let’s shine some light on what happens behind the scenes!

 

Rhythm Cups

Feel the beat as we pick up, put down, tap, and slide our way through learning rhythm with cups! We will learn some basic rhythms step by step and then speed up as we go. It’s like a cross between playing music and playing a game with all the fun and learning mixed up together!

Telling a Story Through Song
